In Chile “La Fonda (also called ramada or Chingana) is built as temporary local retail food, drink and dance during the Fiestas Patrias in September. It stands on a fallow site with clubs, branches of palm trees and a roof of reeds. Its origin is in the first celebrations of Independence. In the nineteenth century were the popular entertainment venues. Due to the high alcohol, brawls and gambling starts to regulate its operation since 1823 required a license for installation.
